Even in the snow

So just a day ago I posted about how we could tell it was spring by the fact we could set up the trampoline.
Well today the snow decided to come back big time!
Big soft flakes!
Blizzard type wind!
Really it is like Christmas season all over again!
Does that stop my kids?!?
NO!!!
They were outside the minute we got home enjoying their favourite outdoor activity.
Here are some pics for you to enjoy.
Here's hoping your having a better spring than we are.

Winter is finally leaving

So my kids have had a bad case if cabin fever for about 3 or more months now.
There has been fighting, crying, screaming, and more. Just when I thought they were going kill each other we got some sun.
Yesterday wasn't the warmest of days. Rain off and on but the snow in the yard had melted enough that the weather wasn't going to deter Josh from his goal for the day.
He got out as early as he could and started pulling pieces out from the shed. Carefully counting to make sure it was all there he began piecing everything together.
A couple if times he came into the house upset that he just couldn't remember how to go it and it was never going too get done!
Yet he NEVER gave up.
2 hours after the start of his project he came in almost defeated. So close to being done and he just could not get the last of it together.
Mom please come help.
Out I went and as we worked together with a few pinches and sore hands we finished his project for the day. Oh the joy he had and the sense of accomplishment.
He may have needed some help at the end but he had completed a project from beginning to end and he struggles with things like that.
Now it was time to enjoy the fruits of his labour and he invited all his siblings to join in, and they did.
There was no more fighting just pure joy and laughter. Josh had brought some much needed peace to the house.
What was this magical project you ask?
He set up the trampoline.
Such a small thing in the grand scheme of things but so big to the kids. Almost like remembering that life does begin again and there will always be a light at the end of the tunnel.
I have my last day of work of Tuesday and then I can wait to begin the spring clean up on my home.
For the first time ever I am excited to hit that cleaning project and to wash winter away. My kids have helped to show me how such a small thing like cleaning out the house for spring can bring us all so much joy.
How has spring sprung at your home?
Here are some pictures and a video for you to enjoy :)

Time to Do Something

So my family has a LONG history of cancer in it. I have lost my fair share of Grandparents and Great grandparents as well as other family members to this deadly disease.

I also have quite a few amazing family members who have attacked this monster head on and come out ahead. They were, still are, and will always be some of my personal hero's.

We have done a few things like helped other out prepare for events, and Ben even shaved his head a few years back.

This time our family has a bigger goal. We are trying to get healthier as well as raise some money to fight the "Cancer Beast". We have joined up in our Relay for Life walk here is Prince George.

For 24 hours straight my family will be taking turns walking, running, skipping you name it. Non stop. If one person needs a rest another takes over.

I have to admit, after I signed us up I thought to myself, "YOU ARE CRAZY!! How are you going to keep 6 kids under control and walking for a full 24 hours!!" I immediately started looking for a way to cancel us out of it and then I realized, that it may be hard but it would be worth it. The best things always are.

It not only would help out people fighting Cancer, but help my family have a moment in our life that we will always look back on as a true team building event. We all will have to work together to make this work. Not only that but the time we will be spending as we practice and build up to this event. I relaxed and then had a meeting with the family.

We have been trying to figure out a way to raise the $1,000 goal we set for ourselves with very little time to do it. I am still at the tail end of Tax season, Mike is working 2 jobs, Ben is working and taking piano plus the kids start soccer in May. When will we have time to fund raise?

Well this is where this post, the internet and counting on our family to help us out comes in.

We decided that we are going to do 1 or 2 laps at the top of every hour where we do silly things or walk in silly ways, etc.  Now for every person who donates $50 or more will get to choose one of the activities and which family member does it. We will film a video of them doing that activity and then post it live from the event for you all to watch.

Mike has said if anyone donates $100 he will walk 1 lap in a Diaper and bonnet!! 2 laps for $200.

please leave a comment or send me an email if you are one of these people with those big donations. We will be sure to thank-you and get you your video.

The event runs from 10am May 11th to 10am May12.

Please help us raise money and have fun doing it.

Thank-you

Stuck!

Ok, so a while back my kids introduced me to the game Candy Crush.
You know one of those stupid mindless games that you play when you have nothing to do that over time even takes over the things you have to do.
Yeah we all have a game in our life like that.
Anyways, I have been doing fairly well at the game and keeping my time in check but I am getting frustrated because I Am Stuck!! I am on this stupid level that I can't seem to pass no mater how hard I try. Ugh it is driving me crazy!! If I didn't refuse to waste money on games like this I would have spent whatever it took to get past this level.
You have a level like that in your game?

Playing dress up

Cloe was having fun going through Jordan's old clothes and dress up clothes.
There are days I can't even remember what life was like before I had a girl. She sure makes my life complete.

A day off

Well it has been one crazy tax season with ups and downs both at work and at home. One day I will go into it all but some I am not ready to share yet.

So after an eventful Christmas, and 3 crazy months of taxes I got the day off today and so I have been having some fun.

This morning Grandpa took Cloe swimming and I enjoyed some time with my sister who was taking a mental health day from work.

We shared a plate of Chinese good for lunch and built a fried wong tong tower. We went shopping, mostly window shopping and just enjoyed relaxing.

After that we picked up the swimmers and dropped Grandpa off at home for a much needed nap and we came back to Rami's house.

Here Cloe and I planted out seeds for growing our corn, pumpkins, cucumber, and tomatoes. Cloe says she is the best gardener ever. I just love how cute she is.

Now we are waiting for Mike to get off work and to go pick up the boys from school.

This was a much needed day off to get ready for the last of the craziness that is the last week of tax season.

Hope you are having a good day too.
