Look back at September part 1

So since I haven't been able to get on here because of again computer issues I thought I would take a look back at some of my favorite things that happened this month. This post I am going to focus on the weekend of Sept 18-20

This was the weekend of Stake Conference and it was awesome. I loved how all the talks were so much more engaging than usual and it just seemed so fun to enjoy. Afterwards the youth came and took over the building and held an 80's themed dance! BOY did it bring back memories! Really why did we wear our clothes so bright? Still it was so much fun seeing all the kids dressed p in what we thought was great fashion and hearing some real flashback music. Here are a couple of shots I took with my then brand newly acquired Camera (since I had to replace the stolen one) Still need to work on some of the settings for pictures in the dark but I still love how they turned out.

I didn't make it to the Sunday session of conference because my good friend Jenn was hosting her first booth at her first trade show fair for people 50+.  I really wanted to be there to help her out as much as I could for the first part of it, plus she gave her first presentation. From what I heard from some of the people she did great. She didn't expect much from her first show but as you can see from the pictures people just love what she had to offer. I am so excited for her as she takes on her new challenge of a Travel Agent from home and if any of you who read this may want to go somewhere.. no matter where you live she can book it for you and get you there cheaper GUARANTEED! Check out her webpage and here are some of the photos I took while I was there.

And last but not least as I mentioned in my "I am Back!" post I have have been have major headaches and tooth problems because of a lump in my cheek. Well on the 20th my sweetiepie Josh tried to help make some pasta for dinner and when he open the sauce can this is what happened because his hand slipped. Hope you enjoy a good laugh as we did when it happened.

How was your September?

My weekend and then there was monday..

So this past weekend poor little Cloe had a relapse of the flu that she caught from her preschool class last Monday. She was so sick that my usual bouncy, active, creative, curious little girl just wanted to cuddle and sleep. It broke all our hearts and even poor butterscotch, who usually is trying to find a way to get away from Cloe's "loving" grasp, cuddled with her for a few hours.

That same Sunday the people I have been trying to get together for my first photo shoot took their bikes in the Salvation Army ride for Toys. I took a few minutes and headed down there and took a couple of shots of them all dressed up with their daughter and friends. This is one of my favorites.

We had a crazy busy Monday as Claudia was feeling much better and we tried to get the house tidied up for family home evening and I took on the task of trying to get my couches looking like new again. Yep that maybe a task that I might regret as I am finding it is taking forever to do. I got all the cushion covers done yesterday.. took 3 scrubs and washes in the washing machine. today we are trying to tackle the love seat :S

There was also the most amazing sunset yesterday that I grabbed a few photos of before we started Family Home Evening. Just had to share this with you... I combined a couple of pictures I took into a panorama shot. LOVE IT! OK so first time I have played with that on Photoshop.

And then of course we had our Family Home Evening. Now with dentist appointments and over ambitious to do's I decided to checkout what some of my favorite sites had for a lesson and I came across this on the LDSFamilyFun site the best part was that it had the whole evening planned for us right down to treats that went with the lesson. It made things so wonderful. Sam had a blast making something new as well (since he was on treats last night) so I just had to share a picture of how his Burning Bush Cookies turned out.

How did you weekend and Monday go?

Wacky Hair Day

So Friday at school was the Terry Fox run (which didn't happen because of rain) and Wacky Hair Day. My kids LOVE this day. I think the main reason is because not only don't they have to brush their hair when they wake-up but they get to make it worse. Here are Fridays fun hair.

This is Josh with his friend down the street Jake. They decided to have twin hair day. It was cool.

The Missing Piece

As I sat home this Sunday because it was Mike's turn to go to church while I stayed with the sick kids I took a stock of how I was feeling and if I was doing everything that I am suppose to be doing. And the honest answer is No. I don't always pray every morning and night on my own. I don't always read my scriptures everyday. I don't always follow and do all those things that I know I must do to keep the spirit in my life. Yet I still feel I should have those blessings and why me when they don't come? Now it's not that I don't have the desire to follow those simple rules set out for us, but as I always say to myself when I have missed yet another day of prayer and scriptures "life just got in the way". It is hard to be the Mom of 6 active, smart, some times wild kids. It is hard being a wife and even harder to keep that sense of self in everything we have to do everyday. Now we are on a plan to get debt free in the next 2 years so that we can finally buy our own home and the tight budget we live on is hard! I have had a few medical issues happening over these past couple of years that take up so much energy. Of course there is the weight thing that my doctor and I have decided that we will give my body another year maybe 2 to realise there will be no more babies before we try to hit it hard. Just eat healthy and keep moving is my goal for this time. I have headaches from tension for the past few years that some days make it hard to even move let alone see. I have pills that I could take that help a little with this but they knock me out and I feel so blah the next day that I am of no use to anyone and with kids you can't live like that. So I take painkillers when it gets bad and continue to live my life the best I can until they find another ways or until I can take the time in the mornings to be blah after these pills. The latest is why I was taking stock. over the past month I have had blinding tooth pain that I went to the dentist to get fixed. he replaced a filling that seemed be the cause and fixed a small cavity at the same time. Yet I still had pain. That was when we discovered the lump sitting under my check bone that can't be felt from the outside of my face. We have done x-rays on it and weird as it may seem nothing showed up. My Dentist sent me to my doctor who did more extensive x-rays on my whole skull and still nothing showed up so now I am on the list waiting for a CT scan. I am not too worried as it still could be anything but through the pain it causes to my teeth and my already painful headaches I sat there and said again "Why Me?", "What did I do?" then I thought about what I didn't do and I didn't talk to my heavenly father everyday so he could bless me. I didn't search for answers or seek the blessings of the scriptures everyday. I didn't do a lot of things everyday that are so simple to do and could enrich my life. Now that may not have solved my health issues but I would have more peace. So you know me by now I sat down to my favorite YouTube channel on Sundays and found this message that just screamed how I was feeling. Sometimes I think these people are watching me to find out they they need to post next to help me out. Now I don't have it as bad as this amazing guy does but the answer is still the same. So please enjoy, and instead of asking why me, find your missing piece that will make it ok.

I am Back!!

I so missed being able to take pictures all the time and being able to share them on here with everyone. My computer is not back to a 100% but it is usable and so I am going to use it!!
I don't have a ton of time today to post something so I thought I would some pictures I took of dear little Cloe.
The top one is of her new morning routine now that the boys are gone and she is alone.
She takes her Book of Mormon and tries to mark the scriptures we read like her brothers do.
This is even before she does her hair and such. It is so cute to watch her try and learn.
These next ones are from a day she decided she was going to use Dads tie as a shirt.
I loved it so much I just had to take the pictures and then I dressed them up a little just for fun.
Please enjoy!!
Oh and Ben's camp post will be happening soon. the computer died in the middle of him posting the pictures to it. so he will spend this weekend posting the rest and finishing his story. Look for it early next week
